I couldn't believe it! I had only just assumed my position as band manager for my high school's marching band, and already they gave me a huge assignment. My task was to promote a parade that the band would be marching in. I was in charge of getting all of the signage together and decorating the parade route with various displays pertaining to our school's band. I had been given a modest budget to work with so I had to be frugal and smart in my purchasing decisions.
In all of the parades I have ever watched, large banners seemed to be a big part of the decorating scheme. So I immediately logged onto the internet and began my search for some impressive band banners. I found a lot of web sites that had what I was looking for but, having a limited budget, I had to choose the one with the lowest prices.
The banners that I chose were made of vinyl and were very durable. I ordered them with metal grommets on the corners which made it easy to hang them along the parade route. The printer was able to make them with our school colors and even add in a graphic of a bass drum with two trumpets crisscrossed in front of it, which turned out really cool. If I'm still on the committee next year, I can probably use them again and again. The parade went off without a hitch and the entire staff was very impressed with my skills as a coordinator.
