Banner Ads

We’re all aware of the various types of advertising available: TV commercials, flashing web adverts, even direct mail. One form of advertising which can be highly effective, particularly when used outdoors, is banner ads. They can be used in countless different ways for countless different purposes. From advertising the fact that an office building is available for rent, to alerting people to an upcoming event, they are highly versatile and very effective.

The great thing about banner ads is that they are a blank canvas. There are limits in terms of shapes and sizes, but not in terms of design! You can really put your own stamp on banner ads! When you decide to invest in banner ads, it may be worth collecting some of your thoughts together and form at least a plan for their design. Whilst many companies will offer design and print services, you can be a little more confident in the results of your banner ads when your brief the design yourself. Of course, the company providing them will usually be happy to do it for you too.

Banner ads are not generally considered to be a ‘front line’ form of advertising; however they can actually be more effective than some more ‘direct’ types. The great thing about banner ads is that they are passive. They can be eye-catching, but an individual chooses to read them. This is a much better means of delivering your marketing message than flashing it in their face on the web or shouting it at them on the TV!
